Julian Adam

I'm curious about where strategy, technology, and data actually meet — and what it takes to turn that into decisions people can act on.

Setting the room…

Welcome panel showing

I studied Information Systems, completed internships in digital IT consulting and in data science and advanced analytics, then pursued a Master in Management at INSEAD. I'm drawn to problems where technical detail and the wider decision both matter, and I often build small things to understand them better.

Experience & education

A route through systems, data, and management

Where I studied, where I worked, and what came out of it.

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems (SRH Heidelberg) Digital IT Consulting internship (Siemens): Part of a paper-elimination programme running across 82 countries. Authored and delivered a strategy presentation at IT Board level, and built the business case for a Microsoft HoloLens pilot presented to senior management. Data Science and Advanced Analytics internship (Octapharma): Cut the monthly reporting cycle from over four hours to under ten minutes, and contributed to an ML-driven initiative projected to reduce human plasma waste by more than 1% — €1mn+ in projected annual savings. Master in Management (INSEAD): On track to graduate in January 2027. Strategy Consultant (Emerald Consulting (INSEAD pro bono)): Presented the strategy directly to the founders. Internship (Enpal): Built the reporting that made stuck cases visible — a process that could not see where its own cases were sitting can now show it. Where I learned to check whether a number is a stock or a rate before reporting it, and that a queue getting longer can mean the measurement finally started working.

Beyond work

Following snow across the world

Skiing since I was three — freeride over pistes, and three continents of seven.

Off the marked runs — Freeride and powder over groomed pistes. I don't really know why — there isn't often that much snow, so it's rare. And it's more fun, and different from what I normally do. Three continents, and counting — Three of the seven so far, and the ambition is all seven.

A global perspective

Five places worth marking

The cities — and one forest campus — that account for most of my map so far.

Heidelberg: Heidelberg is home. The rest of this list is mostly the places that took me away from it for a while. Singapore: The farthest from home I had worked at the time. Vienna: A very different European city to live in. Fontainebleau: A campus in a forest outside Paris. Berlin: Where I am now. The internship that brought me here is still running.
